We are a family business – operated by Hellen and Phil in Canberra for 29 years (7 years in Woden Plaza and 22 years at the present location in Mawson). Advance Jewellers is a Boutique Jewellers Shop, not linked to any ‘Chain of Stores’ in any way. Advance Jewellers is a totally independent Jewellers shop.
2020 is Hellen’s 54th year in the Jewellery Industry – For you, our customer, Hellen’s vast experience and knowledge is translated into very satisfying personal attention and close customer service.
Phil, for the last several years has been working his magic with pearls and things. Phil personally does all our pearl and bead re-threading and knotting etc, by hand, so your precious pearls never leave our premises.
Jewellery Repairs make up a large portion of our business, and may we say, “we’re very good at it”. Our success stems from our ability to take care of your Jewellery Repairs in our Canberra workshops. This provides an enhanced level of security for your valuable items as they are handled always by us and our Jeweller(s). No posting of items interstate or overseas; no couriers etc.
Associated with repair work is re-making / re-modelling of jewellery items that have outlived their usefulness… most re-modelling work is also carried out in our Canberra workshops.
Many of our pieces are ‘one only’ designs which we have either purchased or had specially made. As you can imagine, with 54 years in the business Hellen has got to know who’s who and who does what well etc. virtually on a worldwide basis.
Valuations: We also take care of Jewellery Valuations for Insurance and/or Estates and have available to us the services of a qualified and registered Jewellery Valuer (member of the National Council of Jewellery Valuers). Jewellery Valuations are carried out at a fixed price and not on the basis of a Percentage of Value.
